To get settled abroad is the dream of many in India. Canada is one of the prominent places where most Indians want to go along with PR (Permanent Residency). So, many are searching for different ways through which they can go to Canada with PR. In this article, we will discuss one such way i.e. Express Entry.
What is the Express Entry?
Express Entry is the system created by the Canadian Government to invite only skilled applicants based on their language, Qualification, work experience for the PR i.e. they are inviting only skilled and qualified people in their country. They make the selection based on the CRS score cutoff. If you get selected you will receive ITA (Invitation to Apply) and get an email containing COPR letter.
What is the CRS score?
Our CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score depends upon age, qualification, experience and IELTS score. As we know we can’t change our age, qualification or Experience but can only change the IELTS score. So, emphasize getting a good IELTS score. Also, last year cut off was around 438 or 440 so you need more score to receive that golden letter.
So, before going for any step, you need to check the CRS score and analyze how much score you need to get selected. As we have discussed that we can change only our IETLS score so, prepare for the IELTS exam before going for any step and get the desired score.
To check CRS Score, visit http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp and it is free of cost.
In this site, there is a tool that helps you to calculate the CRS, based on the information you provided. When you visit the site, fill the details like:-
§ Marital status:
§ Spouse details (you will get more points if you mention your spouse as a secondary applicant),
§ Age (lesser the age you will get more points),
§ Qualification (more the qualification you have, more points you will receive i.e. if you have done master then you will get more points than bachelors),
§ IELTS score details (fill the score you get in each Speaking, listening, writing and reading).
Calculate the Score
The result will contain the points for detail you have mentioned. E.g. for the age you are getting points, for qualification, experience or IELTS it will show the point you get. If you have filled the details for your spouse you will get the score for that also. In the end, it will show the Overall score you get. This Overall score is your CRS score that will decide whether you will get ITA or not.

3. Profile Creation for ITA (Invitation to apply) i.e. Creating a profile in Express Entry Pool for ITA
After your IELTS and ECA done next step is Profile creation for ITA. One thing you note that you cannot create Profile for ITA online without your IELTS score and ECA acceptance. Profile creation is free of cost. You also have to provide NOC code that represents that the kind of job you will look in Canada and make sure that job responsibility in reference letter that you will be provided in the next steps matches with the NOC Code.
After this, you have to wait for the cutoff list. The draw is declared in every 2 weeks approximately. So wait for the cutoff list. Suppose the cutoff list is 440 and your CRS score is 445, then you will receive ITA or if not you have to wait for another draw. Make sure that your CRS score must be around 440 or 445 as the cutoff list is approximately around 440 or 445.
4. Arrange documents
Although this step comes when you receive the ITA but our suggestion is to start arranging the documents as soon as you submit your application because document arranging is a time-consuming step and there is a deadline of 60 days after receiving the ITA which was 90 days earlier. So be proactive and start arranging your documents like 10th. +2, graduation, post-graduation degrees and transcripts.
5. Receive ITA i.e. Invitation from Canadian govt. to submit files
This is the biggest milestone that you are receiving an ITA. If your CRS score is greater than cutoff then you will receive an ITA i.e. if your CRS score is 445 and the cutoff score is 440, then you will receive the ITA. There is nothing much but you will receive an email from IRCC and after that, you can start arranging documents.Click Here To Get More Deals On Mobiles

After receiving ITA you have to submit your Medical along with your documents within 60 days after you receive the ITA. Documents that need to be submitted are:-
§ Job experience, appointment, and reference letters

§ Proof of Funds (POF) that is approx. $12,000 for one person and $15000 for two-person and also you have to provide your 6 months bank statement, so make sure that there are no immediate funds transferred to your bank account but you should have genuine funds from the last 6 months or more.
§ Your Passport Validity must be of 6 months as on when you are traveling and your travel date is based on your medical certificate, Let’s say if you are getting the medical certificate on 1st June 2019, your expiry of one-time visa will be 1st June 2020.
§ Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) you have to provide PCC for all the places you lived in for the last 10 years. For instance, you have lived in the US for 6 months, they have to provide PCC for that place also.
§ Others may include your marriage certificate or your child’s birth certificate.
§ Medical Report based on a medical test. One thing note that, do all your medical tests once you arrange all the other documents as you are getting one year after your medical is done. So, latter you do your medical test, you will get more time to decide when you will travel to Canada because at the beginning you get only a one-time traveling visa and when you land Canada, then you will get PR.
§ Provide the photos as prescribed by the Canadian Government.
§ PR Fees are $1040 per person and if you are traveling with your spouse, this will get multiplied with 2.
7. Visa Stamping
After this, you will receive a Golden Email i.e. COPR, this makes you sure that you are coming to Canada. You will get 30 days to get your passport stamp for a Canadian visa after you receive this mail. Note that this will not be your permanent residency card but this one-time travel visa, so you have to travel to Canada and get your PR. Submit your passport, photos and COPR letter you received at the VFS center. They will take 15 days to stamp and send it back to your home.
§ Hold COPR letter with you, until you get your PR card as it has lots of importance at the Airport or in issuing health cards etc.
§ Make sure that don’t sign or laminate the COPR letter that you receive as it will get invalid. Please keep it as it is as you received it.
